The promotional products industry on the way to a new future

It's never too early to start thinking about the future viability of your own industry. That was the impetus for the Young Professionals, a grouping of young and committed promotional products experts, for the kick-off meeting on Friday, 12.05.2023, at Frankfurt Airport. Because like almost every industry, the promotional products industry is in a state of flux and many owner-managed promotional products agencies are undergoing management changes. This was the reason for the founding of the Young Professionals, as part of and as a target-oriented mouthpiece of the General Association of the Promotional Products Industry (GWW).

More industry attractiveness, its own academy and a clear task in the marketing mix!

When you think of promotional products, the first thing that comes to mind for most is a biro! But ballpoint pens only make up a small part of the large promotional products portfolio. In the meantime, the trend is towards high-quality branded articles with a clear brand message. The choice of promotional item is often based on the longevity and visibility of the logo or the associated advertising message. And it is precisely here that the promotional item finds its justified entry as an advertising medium and also its position in the marketing mix. Promotional items are the most emotional form of advertising and have a positive and long-term effect on customer relations and customer loyalty. In the future, the Young Professionals will also ensure that this knowledge is communicated to the outside world. Their goal is to make the industry much more attractive for younger employees and to give it a fresh face. Especially with the knowledge of the important position of products in the marketing mix, the industry should become very interesting, especially for young people with an affinity for marketing.

With the establishment of its own promotional products academy, the company wants to attract young talents in the future who can acquire and expand their knowledge there. Lectures at universities, vocational schools and advertising academies are also intended to increase the attractiveness.
